Personal Training Services

What are the differences between the Mashouf Initial Training Package (MITP) and Fitness Assessments?

The Mashouf Initial Training Package (MITP) includes two one-hour consultation sessions with a personal trainer, consisting of an in-depth review of your medical history and fitness background, establishing fitness-related goals, and conducting various movement assessments. MITPs include a personalized 4-week training program and are required for purchasing 1-on-1 training sessions with a personal trainer.

Fitness assessments evaluate various indicators of your current fitness performance and capabilities, including cardiovascular endurance, muscular fitness, flexibility, and body composition (circumference and skinfold measurements). Fitness assessments are 1-hour long and open to all MWC members. Fitness assessments do not include personalized workout programs. Any individuals interested in 1-on-1 training with a personal trainer must complete the Mashouf Initial Training Package registration.

I’m not interested in 1-on-1 training. Could I just receive the 4-week training program?

Yes! Inform your trainer during the second consultation that you would only like the 4-week training program. Your trainer will send over your completed program within a week from your last consultation.

How do I get started with personal training?

Please join our current waitlist (click here), and the Personal Training Student Managers will reach out to you with the next steps.

I saw that the Mashouf Initial Training Package (MITP) is $5,000 on the member portal. Is that the actual price?

No, the actual price for MITPs is $60. The inflated price is a measure to control how many MITPs are bought. You will be given a code during the registration process to lower the inflated price to $60.

Purchasing Sessions

How can I purchase a fitness assessment?

A fitness assessment can be purchased online on the Member Portal under Personal Training.

How can I purchase 1-on-1 training sessions?

1-on-1 training sessions can only be purchased in-person with your trainer.

What 1-on-1 session packages do you offer and how much do they cost?

We offer various 1-on-1 session packages ranging from 1 to 20 sessions. You can find our pricing and package details on our Personal Training Services Page.

Scheduling Sessions

How can I cancel a session?

You can cancel your session by letting your trainer know 24 hours in advance of your session. We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for any reschedules or cancellations for all services. All clients are allowed one free session reschedule/cancellation without penalty (if it was under 24 hours). Any subsequent session reschedules or cancellations made under 24 hours will be lost and redeemed.

What if I’m late to my current session?

If you are less than 30 minutes late, a partial session is received. For example, if you are 15 minutes late to your session, you will receive a 45-minute session.

If you are more than 30 minutes late, your session is redeemed and is not carried out.

My trainer is running late. What happens to my session?

The respective time is provided to the client if the Trainer is late.

Refunds

Do you offer refunds?

All personal training services are non-refundable, unless with medical documentation.

I recently became sick/injured, and I cannot continue training. What are my next steps?

Please email your trainer and CC the Personal Training Student Managers (mwcpt@sfsu.edu) about your situation as soon as possible. Be ready to provide medical documentation from your doctor. We will assist you with the refunding process thereafter.
