San Francisco State University Campus Recreation Department is now offering American Red Cross Safety Trainings & Certifications courses for our SF State Students, Faculty and Staff members.

You can sign up for an entry level Lifeguarding course, Lifeguarding, or our Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED & Bloodborne Pathogens Trainings.

Our American Red Cross Safety courses and trainings aim to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

American Red Cross Courses and Classes: 

American Red Cross Lifeguarding course

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. This program offers a choice of Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED courses to meet the various training needs of a diverse audience.

Adult & Pediatric 1st Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens

This Adult & Pediatric First Aid-CPR-AED and Bloodborne Pathogens program will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements based on American Red Cross Standards.
